e-mail temp files

This is a silly little problem - but it's starting to drive me nuts! On my Mac Mini whenever I open a Thunderbird email attachment the temporary file is stored in my Downloads folder out of the way. The same thing happens with Firefox temporary files - straight into Downloads. On my Macbook however everything gets dumped onto the desktop. Before long my desktop is cluttered with the things. I've searched and searched but can't find any difference in my settings between the two machines. I've even changed the Safari downloads folder in case that reset where OSX dumped the temp files - but no luck. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this? I appreciate it doesn't stop me from working - it's just very annoying! Thanks in advance! iWriter

I just undergo become aware of my hotmail and facebook accounts being "highjacked". I have contacted MSN Account Services with the problem-this is after all known attempts at resetting my hotmail password. I also have filled out a Windows Live ID Validation form and I am waiting for a say from Account services. I have changed all passwords as come up. I was able to access one of the accounts that was hacked into by answering my secret question. The label on the account was not mine and was changed to "Janice Muller" Is this a virus or did someone in my contact list figure out my password?I have done a Hijackthis scan and here is the log file. There are so many theory to fixed this problem. Update Office Service Pack. Upgrade IE. contrast between IE and NAV etc. etc. etc. I've try al most all teory but does't work change surface I can not find the solution on Microsoft Web..... but this tips absolutely can fix it. The problem can be fixed by cleaning up all the temp files of the outlook it usually located on the folder with OLK*.
