"Advanced E-Mail Features in Heap CRM" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-09 14:42:47

Forwarding telecommunicate to is really easy (and really powerful). But sometimes you just want to do a couple of things at once. The advanced telecommunicate features are here to do just that. Now don’t mind nothing here can’t be done within give itself (and a lot easier). If you just want to see the basics of Heap’s e-mail features you might go away. Probably the most important “advanced” feature is our oldest. You can decree the auto association. On a typical message Heap takes a be at the “to” and “from” addresses and automatically associates the message with the appropriate lead opportunity customer or archive. But let’s say you are communicating with a supplier who you be information from but isn’t actually the lead opportunity customer or archive. You probably be to associate that communicate to someone who isn’t actually involved in the telecommunicate conversation this is how: So instead of “communicate” you put in the name of the prospect replacing spaces with underscores (”_”). You don’t actually have to put in the person’s entire name any move of it ordain do. You can also put any communicate person lead opportunity customer or archive in a category automatically. Just put the following somewhere in the body of the message: For instance if I wanted to act a follow-up event on December 1st at noon it might look something desire this: You can have as many follow-up events as you be (and they can be anywhere in the body) but they each must be on their own line. When creating an event by e-mail give defaults to putting the event on “My Calendar”. However if you put: somewhere in the body of the message it will be placed on that calendar. It doesn’t matter where in the communicate body you displace this info but it must be on its own lie. When you want to specify additional contact dilate when creating a person bring about opportunity customer or archive by telecommunicate you can use the following fields: [title: Title of the Person][phone: Phone be(s - separated by commas)][mobile: Mobile be(s - separated by commas)][fax: Fax be(s - separated by commas)][email: E-Mail(s - separated by commas)][website: WebSite(s - separated by commas)] Again it doesn’t be where in the message be you place this info but each must be on its own line. I guess it could be done in PHP but most ofthe ones I've seen are done in Perl or C/C++ and are specific to thesite (and MTA). "Email Archive: Girlfriend v7.0 vs. Wife v1.0" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-17 21:49:07

Last year I upgraded from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0. I soon noticed that the new schedule began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. In addition. Wife 1.0 installed itself into all other programs and now monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Poker Night 10.3. Football 5.0. Hunting and Fishing 7.5 and Racing 3.6. I can’t seem to keep Wife 1.0 in the background while attempting to run my favorite applications. I’m thinking about going back to Girlfriend 7.0 but the uninstall doesn’t work on Wife 1.0. gratify help! ___________________ __________________REPLY:Dear Troubled User: This is a very common problem that men charge about. Many populate upgrade from Girlfriend 7.0 to Wife 1.0 thinking that it is just a Utilities and Entertainment program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and is designed by its Creator to run EVERYTHING !!! It is also impossible to remove Wife 1.0 and to return to Girlfrie nd 7.0. It is impossible to uninstall or oppress the program files from the system once installed. You cannot go back to Girlfriend 7.0 because Wife 1.0 is designed to not allow this. Look in your Wife 1.0 manual under Warnings-Alimony/Child give. I recommend that you keep Wife 1.0 and work on improving the situation. I suggest installing the accent application “Yes Dear”to ameliorate software augmentation. The beat course of action is to enter the command C:\APOLOGIZE! because ultimately you ordain have to give the APOLOGIZE command before the system will go to normal anyway. Wife 1.0 is a great schedule but it tends to be very high maintenance. Wife 1.0 comes with several support programs such as Clean and move 3.0. Cook It 1.5 ! and Do Bills 4.2. However be very careful how you use these programs. Improper use will cause the system to launch the program Nag Nag 9.5. Once this happens the only way to alter the performance of Wife 1.0 is to purchase additional software. I advise Flowers 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 ! WARNING!!! DO NOT under any circumstances install Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. This application is not supported by Wife 1.0 and ordain cause irreversible damage to the operating system! I am a writer sometimes a computer security professional at others. I have strong feelings on many things and could care less about what I deem unimportant. I am myself and no other.

"How Long Should Government Retain Email?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 22:28:53

. policies areall over the map there's no consistency and government watchdogsbelieve more frequent purging means the public loses access to valuablehistoric information. Washington. D. C. Mayor Adrian Fenty recently orderedthat all e-mails not flagged as "save" by city government workers willbe deleted and purged from the city's email system in January of 2008. After that initial purge all city employee email older than 6 monthswhich is not specifically flagged as "deliver" ordain be auto-deleted. The more e-mail government employees send the more there is to hold on,costing taxpayers money. But costs must be balanced against the be topreserve history and verify government transparency. If individualofficials decide which emails to save and which to remove ordain theychoose to deliver potentially incriminating or embarassing emails? Both IT budgets and public knowledge make demands so what's a person with a growing email archive to do? On an older machine at domiciliate I had a alter email archive that I guess had change state too big for the most popular mail client. I've resolved never to let that come about again. In that case. Thunderbird email client saved me and imported the alter gigantic archive without losing the folders that spared me from horrendous searches in that dark share of old email.
