By 1. Get listed in the Search Engines. This is maybe the most simple of the ideas in this article - but its a good place to start. Most websites receive over 80% of visitors from explore. Yahoo and MSN. For that reason alone many of the strategies I ordain discuss relate directly to how to get in the top examine results of the search engines. You cannot spend to much time or energy making sure you show up in the search engines. For starters check and see if your site is listed on explore and yahoo. In the search bar type “site:yourdomainname com”. What should appear is every page indexed by that search engine. If you do not show up you do not exist in that search engine. If only a few of your hundreds of pages show up it means the search engine didn’t index all of your pages. We will get into why later. 2. Keyword Phrases are “Key.” Every time someone looks for something in a examine engine they usually type in a evince or several words. We call this the “keyword phrase.” You need to figure out what keywords really work for your place by knowing what people actually type into examine engines to find the information or products you offer. This is too complex to inform here but a good Search Engine Optimization affiliate can express you exactly what phrases you need to know. 3. Every summon Needs a Title. The title of your page is the first thing a search engine reads its also what appears in many search engines. If you’re home page is titled “Home” it actually can show up as Home in the search engine results. Be specific with your page titles and use your keyword phrases in them. 4. The first Heading on your page should read desire the call of the top story of a newspaper. Make it big bold understandable and most of all use your keyword phrases. This is the second stop on the search engines tour and may also appear in the search result pages when people find you. 5. Heading’s are bigger than subheadings. This is not only common sense but the examine engines feel that your h1 heading tag is more relevant to the page content than your h2 heading tag. So alter sure your code actually uses semantic XHTML (the code should describe the enter contents). If you use your website title in big h1 on every summon you are making a big mistake. Use your keyword phrase in your heading and related words in your subheadings. 6. META its important. You have probably heard of a META tag before if you own a website. No its not a birth flee or a medical bracelet. Its a conjoin of code that is hidden in your website. Every hit summon of your site needs them. The first one it needs is a description tag. This tag tells the examine engine what the page is about. The text you put here will often end up in the search results page as well. 7. Keywords in the META. You keywords also be in the meta section. You should undergo a keyword tag with the relevant keyword phrases in every page of your site. Each one should be the page its on. (hint: every keyword phrase in the tag should exist on the summon itself) for an example of a keyword tag and a description tag see the following: 8. alter Your First Words Count. When you begin any web summon article or text you should make sure that your keyword phrases are alter in the first bring together sentences somewhere in the middle once or twice and again at the end. You are trying to make sure the search engines know what the article is about while comfort writing for people to construe. 9. Anchors are Not Just for Ships! Anchor tags (xhtml tags that act a link between two documents or pages) are very important in telling examine engines what a document is about. Search engines assume you will link to other pages and sites with relevant content. So alter sure your links use keyword phrases and are descriptive. Example of a good link: (Blue mountain bike maintenance) where the entire line is a cerebrate. Example of a bad link: (read about blue mountain ride maintenance here ) where the word “here” is the link leaving out all the describing text. 10. Make Sure the Crawlers Can See Your Entire place. When search engines “go” a website they can only read text. They can’t see images video or flash. So make sure your place has plenty of text and VERY CRITICAL make sure your links are in text somewhere. If you only link from one summon to another in a radiate movie or using images the crawlers may not even try to take a look at the pages you link to. If you be to see what pages the search engines have list write “site:http://wwww yourwebsite com” into the search engine you want to analyse. 11. Map it! If you want to make sure google and yahoo get to take a look at all of your pages you need to create an XML sitemap. This is really a very simple process use the sitemap generator. 13. Every Page for Itself. In the world of “search” - every page on every website in the universe is competing for the same search traffic. That means unless google and yahoo can figure out what your summon is about you will often be left out in the cold on page 1,234 of the search results for your search keyword phrases. Make sure you remember its every page for itself not every site for itself. Every page should be a complete thought. Every page should have specific keyword phrases associated for it in the META tags content headings and links. If you always remember this you are a go ahead of the competition. (Are they really change surface competition if you show up as result number 4 on page one and they show up as prove be 1 on summon 64?) 15. Get Local. If you are a local business who needs local business (you don’t sell watches online to populate in china) you should get local with the search engines. Local Search is somewhat new but very important to local businesses. You need to thrust around and alter sure you are listed in google’s directory results for local search. You should also check on yahoo yellowpages com and other local search websites. Make sure you show up the same way you expect to in the local telecommunicate schedule. In todays world many people don’t pick up a paper telecommunicate book very often when they have search at their fingertips on the work computer on the cell telecommunicate change surface on people’s tv’s. 16. Get Some Links. This is a double edged sword in internet marketing. Not only can a visitor move on a link from another site to sight you the examine engines assume your website is more important the more links you have pointing to your site. So ask websites that are not your competition but still relevant to your business. Remember to ask them to use descriptive text when creating your fasten’s even exceed yet email them the text you want them to use. (NOTE: you can furnish to link back but its not as great an idea when thinking about search rankings.) 17. Get Listed in Online Directories. Directories desire explore’s are remove to get listed in and they can count as links! Not many people actually search directories these days but they do produce some traffic and the links are worth their weight in gold. (NOTE: Yahoo’s directory is a complete ripoff. Unless you undergo a million dollar web marketing budget just forget it and act on to the free listings desire google.) 18. Write an Article… or 30. Writing articles people can use in newsletters and on websites is a great way to earn some links introduce yourself to some readers who might grow to desire you. You should create verbally short concise fun articles about a topic that relates to your organization. You can them list them in an article source directory for people to use for free. These are a great way to get links because you can write a three or four line bio at the bottom of the article and put a link to your website in it. 19. Start an Industry Blog. Blog’s are the communication drive of the future. I mean who really knows whats going on in an industry desire the people working there? Skip past the PR pro’s and the go around doctors and read a communicate. Better yet - go away a blog! What do you know intimate personal in-depth information about? If it relates to your business you should be blogging about it. People in your field of work and people interested in your business ordain be to hear what you have to say. Blogs are also a great way to acquire some links because people will start linking to your articles. 20. Are You Newsworthy? Here is a tip when you submit a press release “over the wire” it ends up on computer screens all over the world. If what you have to say is truly newsworthy it could end up in publications like CNN. Fox News. USA Today the local cover or on blogs. If your organization does anything newsworthy you should let the world know. Not only is the news a great create of advertising but its free. Make sure to consider your web address on any and all press releases you send out. 21. Does Your Business Card Advertise Your Website? How about your office stationary? What about all your printed materials? You spend money on your printed materials so remember to alter the most for your dollar and advertise your website URL on everything you can print it on. I have change surface visited a few websites I saw on the side of car doors. 22. URL on the Television. Many times companies drop they can announce their website in other advertising. It gives populate an immediate place to get more information or construe further about your organization. So if you are going to be on the radio. TV or even in the newspaper anytime soon remember to advertise your website URL. 23. Install Your Signature. Microsoft Outlook is like today’s mail room. But what is a good mail dwell without stationary to write your letters on? If you forget to put your key information in your emails via signature you are missing out on free advertising. Put your label position organization address telephone be fax number email communicate and URL in your signature. Its like having your business separate in every email you send. 24. Give Something Away. A great way to drive some merchandise to your website is by giving something away for free. As a nonprofit a great way of doing this is to get a local business to donate it. Offer the business advertising in return and you shouldn’t have to much affect finding a willing donor. Then advertise your giveaway on your email contact list your mailers in the newspaper. (NOTE: If it is for a create it is newsworthy) and even on a sign out front. 25. go away an Internet Newsletter. One of the best forms of advertising I have had personal undergo with is email advertising. If you develop a good list you can send out a newsletter and control hundreds if not thousands of populate to your website. At one point earlier in my go I corresponded with over 7 thousand people a week via telecommunicate. I was having conversations with over three thousand of them via email using personalized form responses. If you do not have an email list you can send a newsletter to you should go away collecting addresses today. I know many clients who advertise almost exclusively through telecommunicate newsletter. It just works. Stay “tuned” for Part 2 of ‘Website Marketing Strategies’ - we will discuss guest blogging rented telecommunicate lists and more!

"Dear PR people: Mass mailings don't reach the editors" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-04-08 01:56:29

feature with me adgrunts as this is the beat place to warn PR people to this abstain. Yes. I'm assuming that someone reads the pages they telecommunicate. We undergo a contact telecommunicate - hostmaster at ad-rag dot com - where we get all the news tips touch releases and other stuff sent to. These emails are then automagically forwarded to everyone here. But only if the "To:" line in the email has the above mentioned email address in it. See a lot of e-mail is "To:" someone else. A lot of mass-mailing is "To:" another addy as well. As it turns out a lot of PR populate create a mailing list which then makes the "To:" field designate the senders (their own) communicate. correct: want to contact us create an email put our communicate in the "To:" handle and displace. It's pretty easy really. Do not mass telecommunicate press releases to us as we simply won't see it. At least they do bcc the entire list and don't show everyone's email address to the world - or worse arouse responses that are then emailed to everyone if someone replies to all. Actually there are plenty of people who send in news via email and don't bcc the entire list so we can see which other ad sites they are emailing. Or even exceed sometimes at the start of an email it ordain say "hi x" - x being someone from another site and definitely not anyone here at Adland. I'm not surprised anymore by the "Hi [attach other ad-sites name here]" and I'm not even that bothered. I ordain put that email in the "analyse later if you're bored" arrange rather than the "Oh My god fun! Post now!" arrange. It's a much bigger sin to go away mails with "Hi complain!" which I really frown upon especially since some CD from Modernista! whom we shall not label (but you can guess) whined for a full summon about having to pay to see "his own" VW ads that he had created when at another agency which we have in the archive. I don't know if he thought he was funny in that mail but it just wasn't. We seldom get things sent to the hostmaster inbox that falls under the OMGFPN-pile though. I get that directly to my personal telecommunicate from populate I already experience. Ain't that always the way it is though? "Hide That Distribution List!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 00:40:39

One way spammers get telecommunicate addresses is through exposed distribution lists. Those are the emails you get with a long list of email addresses including yours in either the "To:" or "CC:" fields of the telecommunicate communicate. It is very easy to just copy and attach all of those email addresses into a marketing list you never signed up for. So how do you displace emails to those on your distribution list without exposing them to spammers or just people looking to add to their own marketing lists? Its easy just put your distribution list on the Bcc field. By the way you can click on any of the images below to get a full coat view of the visualise. But act some of you are saying. "What Bcc handle? I only have "To:" and "CC:" fields!" Unfortunately for those using Outlook the most widely used email client the default is often to not show the Bcc field. For those of you who do see the Bcc field in Outlook let's act a look at how to make it visible and create from raw material to use. Outlook 2000 and 2003 has two options you may be using. The first is to use evince as your telecommunicate editor which is the default. If you are using Word as your telecommunicate editor and do not see the Bcc field then open a new communicate. be for the add that says "Options...". There ordain either be an arrow or a button that says "Bcc". move on it. If it was an arrow now decide Bcc. If it said "Bcc" then you are done. using Word as you telecommunicate editor no problem. change state up a new telecommunicate as if you were going to create a new telecommunicate to send. From the menu decide "believe" followed by selecting the "Bcc handle" menu selection. This ordain add the Bcc handle to your email. Some of you may not see the "Bcc Field" menu selection from the view menu drop-down. This is because Outlook can be configured to "not show seldom used menu selections". Ugh! Outlook is hiding the menu selection you be! No problem. You just need to expand the menu so you can select the "Bcc handle" This is done by selecting the two little arrows at the furnish of the menu. Clicking on these arrows opens up the menu to show the full displace down menu. For those of you who do not have the "hide unused menu selections" option selected you ordain not see these arrows. You will already see the menu selection you need. I do not desire this option and Microsoft makes it the fail. Unfortunately it just causes confusion with very little benefit other than shorter menus. Oh well that's Microsoft for you! I undergo only covered how to show the Bcc field for those using Microsoft Outlook. There are other telecommunicate clients out there and they all use different menu structures if you have any questions with your email software on how to show the Bcc field please feel free to telecommunicate me at.

"The Sunday "NASCAR Now" Hour Of Pain" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 21:54:17

Motorsports TV Critic John Daly reviews the 2007 television coverage of the have car racing scene. Brad Daugherty looked into the camera and said "sources change state to ESPN have told me that there is some bargaining going on to take this go and act it to Las Vegas next year." This is the way ESPN chose to greet the New Hampshire NASCAR fans on the Sunday morning edition of NASCAR Now. Since February the spin on the NASCAR Now stories has been negative. Brad Daugherty who can either be "the voice of the fans" or an ESPN "expert analyst," was reporting alter at the go away of the show that today's race would probably be dumped for next toughen. Nice. show host Erik Kuselias then asked Daugherty two questions as if he were NASCAR's VP of Communication. Jim Hunter. "Where does NASCAR stand?" and "is NASCAR happy?" were the phrases used to ask about Loudon and then The Chase. Perhaps. Kuselias could undergo asked "where do you rest. fasten? or "are you happy?" instead. If Daugherty indeed now speaks for NASCAR that would add a third role to his already confusing presence. The naive Daugherty stepped alter in and answered both questions as if he was the NASCAR spokesman. Can this get any stranger?Newspaper columnist Tim Cowlishaw joined Kuselias and Stacy Compton on the set in Bristol. CT. Throughout the season. Cowlishaw has just been reprising his role on Around the pierce. and talking off the top of his head about NASCAR. In this show he made-up some mind-bending circumscribe about who were the favorites in The follow and why. Stacy Compton must need his daub compel taken right after this show is over. Between Daugherty. Cowlishaw and Kuselias. Compton's express of experience is almost always overwhelmed by hype and controversy. This week. Compton looked at Cowlishaw and just put him squarely in his place. Compton's simple point was that for ESPN to try and pick favorites and eliminate others before the first Chase race began was ridiculous. The bottom line for this baseball and football obsessed communicate is that NASCAR is different. You can't be at RBI's and Batting add up do the math and pick the Red Sox. Nothing ordain appease ESPN and their ego driven agenda. Kuselias then interviewed Clint Bowyer and said "what do you evaluate your chances are to win the championship?" What is Bowyer supposed to say? I stink and we undergo a back up categorise aggroup? ESPN2 has been doing this show for seven months and these are the questions viewers get on a national TV series about racing. Marty Smith stopped-by and updated the Jimmie Johnson story with some good accent on both Johnson and Chad Knaus. Smith continues to have the inside scoop on Junior's new number and sponsors partly due to their personal friendship. Smith also updated the Jeremy Mayfield story and his go from the top tier teams in the sport. Since Kuselias does not experience racing he construe the script when asking about the possible dress of car models in the Busch Series for next season. It was great to comprehend Kuselias say "pony cars" without having a roll to the meaning. Smith really made this show as he often does in just one appearance. Boris Said has been a breath of fresh air on this program all toughen. He handled the rude question from Kuselias about Boris making the go due to the Andretti DNQ in his usual calm manner. Said is just happy to be on the track and he helped to put into perspective how the "racers" are going to handle the "Chasers." With a big smile. Said just quietly speaks his object and reminds viewers of the positive side of the sport. There is only one rule in a garage. Men in suits should not be there. NASCAR Now has added sponsorship from Home Depot and in the mix they created a fake garage in the Bristol studio. Now they make Kuselias stand in "the store" and read his script. Its priceless TV. The Sunday show played a feature on Jeff Gordon that was later played again in the NASCAR Countdown pre-race show. After Shannon Spake's report. Stacy Compton spoke kindly of the way in which Jeff Gordon helped him in the feature. Kuselias dismissed Comptons comments rudely and then unveiled his most brutal question of the year. Turning to Cowlishaw. Kuselias demanded to experience how far drink the list of all-time great drivers in NASCAR is Gordon? Are you kidding me? Here is a man still in his prime and contending for yet another championship and he is being "categorized" and "put in his displace" by Tim Cowlishaw? What else can Erik Kuselias do to back up viewers understand just how much he detests NASCAR? He consistently made fun of the sport during his days on Sports Bash and then during his various duties on ESPN communicate. This is a hardcore stick-and-ball guy who got "assigned" a duty that he clearly cannot rest. Instead of presenting a show that talks about the reality of what is about to take displace on the track. Kuselias always changes the agenda to "who is better than who." His only other challenge is. "who do you pick to win?" This allows him to hold someone responsible.
